Akshaj Devireddy
Akshaj Devireddy is a student researcher working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, complex systems, and the philosophy of mind. His work focuses on emergent computation in simple programs, including cellular automata based AI systems and their capacity for abstraction and generalization from limited data. He has also studied how complexity measures, including entropy style metrics, can be used to characterize and compare the behavior of simple computational systems. Akshaj has published research on the intersection between consciousness and AI, and attended the Wolfram High School Summer Research Program and the Wolfram Emerging Leaders Program. He is currently an Affiliate Researcher at the Wolfram Institute collaborating with BrightStar Labs on Emergent Models, a class of AI systems inspired by dynamical systems and computation theory. In his free time, Akshaj enjoys writing on his philosophy blog “Reason and Reflection".
